 The New York Health Care Alliance is a network of 47 post acute health care facilities providing a continuum of high quality care for patients who need sub-acute care and rehabilitation. The Direct Link is a patient placement service which provides Case Managers and Discharge Planners with expert support and direct access to over 12,000 skilled nursing, sub-acute and rehabilitation beds. Greater Harlem Nursing Home’s annual Open House was held on June 30, 2006
Greater Harlem Nursing Home’s annual Open House was held on June 30, 2006. The event featured guest speaker Scott M. Stringer, Manhattan Borough President. In his speech, he addressed the lack of affordable housing for seniors in the city and his support of legislation for appropriate Medicaid/Medicare funding for senior services. Greater Harlem’s Open House was well attended by representatives from area hospitals and other referral agencies, as well as community residents. Shown below is Mr. Stringer accepting a Certificate of Appreciation from Greater Harlem for his continued support to the seniors in the Harlem community.
St. Johnland Nursing Center sponsors stroke symposium
St. Johnland Nursing Center co-sponsored the third annual symposium with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and North Shore-LIJ Health System on “Addressing the Impact of Stroke: Trends in the Prevention and Treatment of Depression and Disability!” on Tuesday, July 18th at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Panelists included Grigori Enikolopov, Ph.D., Associate Professor at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Robert Figlerski, Ph.D., Clinical Director at RG Psychological Services and Ronald Kanner, M.D., Professor and Chairman, Department of Neurology at North Shore/LIJ Health System. The panel discussion was followed by a small reception and was open to the public.
